Sherri (Riggs) Donk

Sherri (Riggs) Donk, 56, of the (Whetsell Settlement) Terra Alta, died on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at her home.

She was born on May 9, 1965, in New Martinsville. The daughter of David L. Riggs Sr. of Kingwood and Terri (Arnett) Riggs Kaufman of Clarksville, TN.

At the age of 5 her family moved to Fairmont, WV where Sherri’s father served as a WV State Trooper. Then at the age of 8 they moved to Kingwood, on Seemont Drive.

In 1986 Sherri studied cosmetology at the Clarksburg Beauty school to become a hair stylist. After completing her schooling, she joined her mother at the Creative Junction in Kingwood. Later she created her own business and continued the name of Creative Junction II. She then decided to join forces with the Price Street Barber Shop. She was the life of the party where ever she went. Sherri married Terry Donk, the love of her life, on December 31, 2010 and had many joyful and happy years together. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister-in-law, niece and foremost a great friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Terry Donk; her son, Chad Tyler Howdershelt of Fairmont; her step-son, Andrew Donk of Kingwood; her brothers, David Riggs II and wife Rose of Montrose and Ronnie Riggs and wife Lillie of Winchester, VA; her nephew, Riley Riggs of Winchester and her step-Father, Stuart Kaufman of Clarksville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hurshlene and Carl Arnett and Delores Davis; uncle, Larry Arnett.

Friends may call at the Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood, on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 5 pm to 7 pm the time of the service with Pastor Brian Detrick officiating, Interment will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 1 pm in the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.
