Betty Iris (Metheny) Emery, 89 of Albright passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 in Morgantown, WV.

 Betty was born February 8, 1931 in Albright, to the late Homer and Mabel (Shahan) Metheny.

 She was a devoted & loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Betty worked as a sales associate for Wright & Smith, Murphy Mart and Ames in Kingwood. She was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church.

 She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years Walter Emery who passed away August 26, 2010

She is survived by two daughters and their families, Cynthia Barlow of Kingwood, her children, Perry Barlow and wife Michelle, their daughters, Allison and Carly of Kingwood, Jodie Barlow and Shawn Haught and their children, Alex and Abbie of Mannington, Craig Barlow and his wife Marie and their children, Jordan and Anna of Tunnelton, Nichole Barlow and Bub Shaffer of Newburg, Brittney Barlow and Joey Stepek and their daughter, Alexis of Kingwood, and Marshall Barlow and Misty Shaffer of Kingwood, great grandson, Hunter Bishop of Terra Alta; daughter, Debbie Hayes of Morgantown,  and her daughter, Lori May and husband Benji and their sons, Joshua and Jackson of Morgantown.  ,sister-in-law’s Agnes Freeman of Orbisonia, PA, Nellie Taylor of Massillon, OH, and Shirley Emery of Bel Air, MD, and many special nieces and nephews.

 She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Barlow,  her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Lula Emery, son-in-law’s, Joe Barlow and William (Bill) Hayes, brother Darrell Metheny, sister Eloise (Metheny) White, brother and sister in laws, James (Jim) Emery, Robert (Bob) and Merle Emery, Clyde Freeman, Jerry Taylor and Harry White.

 Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, no public services will be held. The family will have a private service, and a Public Celebration of Life will be held when friends and family can gather safely.  The family will cherish your stories and memories of Betty shared on her digital register.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Albright United Methodist Church or the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department.
