John Howard Sypolt

John Howard Sypolt, 52 of Masontown passed away on Sunday July 14, 2019 as a result of an automobile accident.  He was born December 4, 1966 in Manheim, WV, son of James Thomas Sypolt of Masontown and the late Marjorie “Patty” Calhoun Sypolt.

John graduated from West Preston High School.  He was a coal truck driver.  He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler to the river, working on vehicles, hunting, fishing and spending time with his granddaughter.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his companion Cheryl Cummings of six years of Masontown; one son, Jonathon Sypolt, Morgantown; granddaughter, Aahliah, Kingwood; five brothers, James M. Sypolt of Kingwood, Larry D. Sypolt of Masontown, Joseph Sypolt of Masontown, Jeffrey T. Sypolt and wife Joyce of Morgantown, Kevin L. Sypolt and companion Suzy Keener of Kingwood; three sisters, Sheila M. Larew and husband Klet of Newburg, Joyce Marshall and husband Jeff of Morgantown and Donna J. Hawk, Winterhaven, Fl; half-brother, Don Calhoun of Terra Alta; special nephews, Colby, Cody, Justin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald "Jerry" Sypolt, Sr, sister-in-law, Rebecca Joyce Sypolt.

A private visitation will be held followed by cremation.
