James L Ellison

James L. Ellison, 86, of Kingwood passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home.

 He was born June 20, 1931, in Kingwood, a son of the late Delbert (Bus) and Gussie Teets Ellison.

He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He served in the US Army for 20 years. He later owned a construction business and was a carpenter. He was a member of the Kingwood VFW Post 826 and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his daughter, Theresia Rowe and husband Mark of Keyser and her mother Irene Ellison who took care of him for many years ; a brother, Kenny Ellison of Maryland, a sister, Sherry Strahin of Masontown, two grandchildren, Nathan and Peyton Rowe.

Family will receive friends at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Friday June 1 from 11 am to 12:30pm the funeral hour with Pastor Sonny McNear. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown in Grafton, WV. Military honors will be accorded by the Preston County VFW Posts, Preston County Chapter 977, Vietnam Veterans of America and the WVANG military Funeral Honors.
