Charles James (Jimmy) Johnson, 91 of Tunnelton died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at home with loving family by his side.
He was born July 23, 1927, in Preston County, a son of the late Roy and Ada Blanch Frey Johnson.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a Cpl. in the US Army serving with the Military Police. He worked on the WV Northern Railroad as a trackman, a Preston County Bus Driver for 19 years. Charles loved gardening, yardwork and attended boy’s little league games he was also a member of the Denver United Methodist Church and the VFW Col. Rowen Post 2345 in Tunnelton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Bolyard Johnson; two sons, Charles Johnson and wife, Diana and Donnie Johnson and wife, Donna all of Tunnelton; three grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Kyla Younker and Ashley Britton and husband, Todd and seven great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sara Johnson; a brother, William (Bill) Johnson; two sisters, Audrey Bolyard and Beulah Sanders.
Family will receive friends at Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Friday June 14 from 2-8 pm and on Saturday June 15, 2019 from 10 am till 11 am the funeral hour with Pastor Tom Strahin officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Ground Cemetery where Military honors will be conducted by the Preston County Honor Guards and the WVANG Military Funeral Honors.
