Van R. Stouffer, 68, of Bruceton Mills WV, passed away on April 11, 2022, surrounded by his wife and family.
Born in Latrobe, PA to the late James D. and Ann (Kozemchak) Stouffer.
Van was also predeceased by his step-son, Westley J. Downs.
Van is Survived by his wife, Alexa Greshok Stouffer; sister, Michele (Barry) Barra of Terra Alta, WV; brother, Neill C. (Bruce L. Harshman) Stouffer of Mt. Lebanon, PA; stepdaughter, Marisa Downs and husband John Wolford of Export, PA; Nephew, Matthew (Sara) Barra, great-nephews, Reed, and Luke Barra and great-niece, Abigail Barra of Marriottsville, MD; Niece, Molly Barra and great-niece, Lily Barra of Cresaptown, MD; and his beloved dogs, Toby and Vinka that were two of his best friends.
Van was a successful tool and dye, business owner. Upon his retirement, he and his wife, Alexa assumed her family's business, the iconic Eastwood Inn in Ligonier, PA. After several years they chose to permanently retire and build their retreat in the hills of West Virginia. Van had a zest for life and was a bit feisty at times, a wonderful cook and jokester who always ended a phone call with, "I love you.
Cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel and Crematory in Kingwood, WV.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to your local animal rescue in memory of Van Stouffer. The family will have private gathering to celebrate his life.
